PTG
The Oak Lawn Parent Teacher Group (PTG) is a forum for parents and teachers of Oak Lawn’s students to come together and help our Eagles Soar! The PTG works together to raise funds, enrich student education, and build a sense of community.
It is an exciting time to join the PTG. Oak Lawn’s faculty and staff is motivated to find new programs and initiatives that can target the younger grades remaining at Oak Lawn. It is our hope that this enhanced focus will also inspire others to bring their energy and ideas to the PTG. Below is an overview of the various committees within the PTG as well as general membership information.

What We Do
By holding a variety of fundraisers, the Oak Lawn PTG raises money to support additional social and educational functions that the students can then participate in. We also provide support to teachers whenever we can, since they are a necessary part of our organization...and the education of our children! These are some examples of activities that the PTO organizes and/or funds:
- Dances
- Book fairs
- Holiday shops
- After school programs
- Teacher appreciation gestures
- Field trips
- Family nights
- Ice cream socials
- Spirit weeks/similar activities
- Food drives/toy drives for families in need of this support
- Yearbooks

Communication and participation are the keys to reaching our goals! There are many opportunities to help and volunteer, and all effort is appreciated.

Some favorites from last year were: Color-a-Thon, The Eagle has Landed, the Fall Walk-a-Thon, Book Fairs, Holiday Shop, Paint Night, and various company sponsorships. One quick way you can help raise funds is by registering your Stop & Shop card with the A+ Rewards page (our code is 07565).

Grant Committee
The Grant Committee is a great opportunity for those who want to help, but are not available during school hours. Since many of the available grants are dependent on specific programs, it is a great way to stay in touch with programs and initiatives planned by the school. Members will spend time researching possible grant opportunities for Oak Lawn. Did you know, many corporations offers grants for schools in their community, or the communities of their employees? Does your employer offer volunteer grants? If you are interested in being on this committee please contact us at [email protected]

Enrichment Committee
Education enhancement and enrichment are key aspects of the Enrichment Committee. Childhood is a time to explore the world and spark curiosity. Enrichment Committee members will look for opportunities to provide increased exposure to various disciplines including the cultural arts, STEM, and the social sciences. This exposure can take many forms including, but not limited to: speakers, in-school activities, and field trips.
